DATA OVERVIEW
Amid the severe resource shortages and unpredictable climatic conditions of the 2040s, the “Opossum” emerged as the answer to the need for a mobile fortress capable of single-handedly turning the tide of battle. This low-profile armored platform, literally studded with active protection modules, does more than just carry weapons—it serves as the epicenter of fire control.
The machine got its name from its unique “camouflage” system: in passive mode, it is indistinguishable from an abandoned engineering container, but when activated, it transforms into a vertical battery that spews death.
WEAPON CONFIGURATIONS
1. The “Grad of Emptiness” Missile System
In its standard configuration, the “Opossum” is equipped with 48 vertical launch cells (VLS).
Automatic mode: The platform’s AI tracks up to 8 targets simultaneously (air and ground), assigning priorities based on threat signatures.
Semi-automatic mode: The operator aims the target designator, and the system launches a salvo of missiles in a “top-down” attack.
2. “Perimeter” Module (Engineering and Assault)
An alternative configuration transforms the platform into a deployment base for autonomous defense zones. Instead of missiles, six cargo rocket capsules are installed:
“Alpha” Module: Central AI Hub. Synchronizes the operations of the entire group, providing 360-degree coverage and interference resistance.
“Osa” Capsules (5 units): Autonomous turrets equipped with **40-mm automatic grenade launchers**.
Ammo: 60 high-explosive rounds per turret.
Purpose: To instantly create an impassable zone for enemy light armored vehicles and infantry within a 200-meter radius.
TACTICAL AND TECHNICAL SPECIFICATIONS: BWP-48 “OPOSSUM”
GENERAL SPECIFICATIONS
- Combat weight: 28.5 metric tons (with a full load of ammunition).
- Crew: 2 people (driver, weapons operator) + AI control module. Supports fully autonomous operation.
- Dimensions (L x W x H): 7.4 m x 3.2 m x 2.1 m (in transport configuration).
DRIVING PERFORMANCE
- Engine: Hybrid diesel-electric power plant, 500 l.s.

PROTECTION AND SURVIVABILITY
- Basic Armor Configuration: Welded composite armor (steel-ceramic) hull. Withstands a barrage of fire from 30-mm autocannons.
- Additional protection: A dense array of heavy dynamic protection (DP) modules on the roof, the VLD, and the sides to protect against ATGMs and strike drones (attacks from above).
- Camouflage: Heat-absorbing coating, built-in system for reducing thermal and radar signatures.
WEAPONS AND WEAPONS CONTROL SYSTEMS
- Basic configuration: 48-cell launch system. Surface-to-surface and surface-to-air missiles.
- “Perimeter” configuration: 6 modular slots. 1 command AI node and 5 autonomous turrets equipped with 40-mm grenade launchers (ammunition capacity: 60 high-explosive grenades per barrel).
- Threat Detection System: Integrated threat detection system capable of simultaneously tracking up to 8 targets.
